An afternoon with Beau

Beau
(Bohemian) is my "free dog." I adopted him from the Humane Society and promptly found out he had heartworms. Treatment cost? $600. Then a few months ago, he stepped between 2 rocks and got his leg wedged in, and in trying to extricate himself from that disaster, he broke the leg. Treatment cost? $1000. Orthopedic surgery for dogs ain't cheap.
But he's my fave dog. He sleeps on his back, legs spread wide apart. He is laid-back and oh, so very, very cool. If he were human, he would wear shades and listen to jazz. In this picture, he is sunbathing in my front yard. And hoping against hope that a squirrel shows up.
